About Us

Our Company

From our base in Enniskillen, GP Electrical & Security Ltd has built up over 20 years of experience serving commercial, industrial, and domestic clients throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, including projects and regular maintenance work in Dublin, Sligo, and Galway. Our strong client portfolio includes large enterprises such as Encirc, the Mannok Group, Liam Connolly Roadfreight, Haldane Fisher, and Tobermore Paving, and is testimony to our commitment to surpassing our clients’ expectations and delivering exceptional service.

GP Electrical and Security Ltd provides electrical contracting services, working with industrial, commercial, and retail customers from the planning and design stages; the installation phase directly with the client and in co-ordination with project managers and other contractors; and with post-installation maintenance and future upgrades.

As well as our 20-plus years’ experience in the electrical contracting field, we have the same length of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining security systems including CCTV / video surveillance, access control, and fire alarm systems. We have long-standing relationships with many of our customers stretching back over the last two decades, usually handling both electrical and security requirements as a single point of contact for both, giving us a close understanding of our clients’ businesses and they ours.

We are registered with the Irish and UK regulatory bodies for both electrical contracting and security systems work. Most of our clients choose to enjoy the benefits integrated electrical and security services, allowing our customers a single point of contact for electrical installation and maintenance as well as access control, linked fire and intruder alarms, video surveillance, and remote monitoring by accredited monitoring centres in Ireland, Northern Ireland and in England.

Most of our admin and technical staff have been with us for many years, and those years of shared experience and accumulated expertise enable us to help clients from the planning stages, through implementation and preventative maintenance – “Plan”, “Design”, “Install”, “Maintain”. It is always best to get it right from the start, and anticipate problems before they arise. We have worked with a wide range of manufacturers and suppliers over the years, and we help customers choose the most appropriate system for their application.

Senior staff at GP have over 20 years’ experience in their respective sectors, and we operate an apprenticeship scheme for training and newly-qualified electricians. We have trained many electricians over the years our apprenticeship scheme has been running.

Plan. Design. Install. Maintain.

At the very initial stages we work with you, including site surveys, to advise on the best plan for current needs, including advising on any potential regulatory issues and making ESB and NIE Networks applications.

We assess the most appropriate technology and methods to achieve the plan and design a solution, or system, to achieve your goals to your budget and requirements, considering also the need to integrate with legacy or future systems, and needs for user/management access.

We work with you on timetables, permits to work, contractor inductions and on-site rules, access, and complete installations in a professional manner, including aesthetic requirements, as well as ease of access, or need to protect from vandalism.

Regular scheduled maintenance and testing is not only prudent, but often a regulatory requirement, and we are able to advise on, quote for, conduct, and certify in accordance with Irish and British regulations any necessary maintenance, testing, or upgrading of our systems and installations to meet future regulatory requirements or desirable new technologies.

For Ireland: We hold a Private Security Authority (PSA) licence. A PSA licence is required by contractors operating in the following sectors: Access Control (Installation and Maintenance); CCTV (Installation and Maintenance); Intruder Alarm (Installation and Maintenance). Licence number 09629.

The regulatory bodies maintain a searchable database of registered contractors, please feel free to confirm our current registration status on the SSAIB, PSA, NICEIC, and Safe Electric websites.
